Meet Trevaun Dhom.
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: I have always had a passion for automobiles from a young age and I always wanted to know how they worked, the very small details that make a huge impact on the vehicle were important to me. Eventually, I had the opportunity to start my automotive technology degree at Parkland during my senior year in high school. That solidified my passion for the automotive industry.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Champaign-Urbana?
A: I have lived here all my life since 1998.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Champaign-Urbana?
A: Neil St. Blues.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Champaign-Urbana?
A: Trevor Noah.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: I would travel to Tokyo, Japan Because I’ve been really intrigued by the culture there and the food. It’s really just a whole different atmosphere compared to the US.
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: If you can go to Curtis Orchard in the fall, go there and get some donuts and apple cider. You will not be disappointed.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Travel the world.
Q: What current/former local business makes you nostalgic about Champaign-Urbana?
A: Curtis Orchard.
Q: What is something unique about Champaign-Urbana?
A: Having a downtown feel of a bigger city with less of the hassle of driving around within a big city.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: Making a difference within the automotive industry while also strengthening my faith and my close relationships.
Q: (Even for friends and family) what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you ?
A: I have a very wide knowledge of era what I am passionate about, from music to my career in the automotive industry. I’m all about little details making a big impact.
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Quiet, Empowering, Multi-ethnic.
Q: If you have a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?
A: Physical Fitness Trainer.
Q: Over the past few weeks, where have you seen Champaign-Urbana “Stronger Together”?
A: Seeing everyone come together for the protests against racial justice and police brutality from the murder of George Floyd. It was very powerful to see the multiple cultures with in the Champaign-Urbana community represented at multiple peaceful protest events within Champaign-Urbana and even in the surrounding cities.
