Megan Seals

Hi I’m Megan and I’m the salon manager at the Savoy Smartstyle and a stylist of 17 years.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve been married to my husband Vince for almost 7 years and I have an 18 year old stepdaughter named Elizabeth, a 13 year old stepson named Jonah, a 4 year old daughter named Jolee and the sweetest dog named Chewie.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I love making people feel beautiful for a living. I enjoy getting to know my clients and they often start to feel like family. I’m currently in training to get certified to teach continuing education for my company and I’m excited to continue to grow as a stylist and share my knowledge with my fellow stylists.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Ribeye, Culver’s, El Toro, Jarlings Custard Cup

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve been at Savoy Smartstyle for 1 and a half years, but I’ve worked in Champaign previously.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I meet interesting people everyday, that’s one thing I love about my job.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I’m ready for a beach vacation and my little girl would love to see a beach.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Grey’s Anatomy

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be kind, you never know what someone is going through.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Take my daughter to Disney.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
I like a wide variety of music, but I’ve never been much of a country girl.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Ribeye is where my parents have always gone for birthdays and anniversaries. I’ve also grown up going to Jarlings for a special treat.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with my friend Emily. I met her in beauty school and she’ll always be a dear friend of mine, but as mom’s we don’t have as much time to get together. I’d take her wherever she wanted to go.

I love that there’s so much variety in Champaign Urbana.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I hope to still be behind the chair doing hair.

The mountains in Tennessee or any beach I’ve ever seen holds my heart.
