Meet Osric Hayes.

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: The desire to help others has truly inspired me. Over the years progressing from a personal trainer to a police officer, helping others is my overall passion. I was born and raised in the Champaign Urbana area so making the society safe me and my loved ones would be my greatest accomplishment.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Champaign-Urbana?

A: My whole life, born and raised.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Champaign-Urbana?

A: Farren’s Pub.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Champaign-Urbana?

A: Lovie Smith.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: Jamaica (Bucket List destination).

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?

A: Be aware of your surrounding, be kind and treat others with respect.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: To go sky diving.

Q: What current/former local business makes you nostalgic about Champaign-Urbana?

A: The Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club.

Q: What is something unique about Champaign-Urbana?

A: Farren’s Pub(best burgers in town).

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: A detective for the Urbana Police Department

Q: (Even for friends and family) what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you ?

A: I was accepted into the Art Institute in Chicago after High School. Art was a hidden talent of mine growing up.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

A: Safe and Secure. Comfortable. My place of peace.

Q: If you have a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?

A: A Chef.

Q: Over the past few weeks, where have you seen Champaign-Urbana “Stronger Together”?

A: Finding the balance between keeping each other safe and doing what’s necessary to care for your loved ones.
